FAQs

Why use a Mobile groomer?

Convenience, less stress on your pet, one on one service (just the groomer and your pet.)

Can you groom my pet today?

Probably not. Most appointments are scheduled at least a few days in advance. Please call anyway and we can see if we can fit you in.

How long does it take?

Most well maintainted small to medium sized pets are done in about an hour. Larger full groom dogs might take an hour and a half. That includes: Nails, ears, glands, bath, blow dry and haircut.

Do you have warm water and electricity?

The grooming van carries enough water for a full day of grooming. A propane water heater keeps the water warm for every pet. Extra batteries on board means everything else runs without needing a loud generator. On really hot or very cold days I might need to plug into your outlet to run an AC or heater in the vehicle but other than that the inverter takes care of all electrical needs.

Do you come to my area?

We serve the Vancouver Washington area. That includes going north to the Ridgefield Fairgrounds exit, Battleground Main Street and east to the town of Camas. All areas outside of these limits could incur an additional "travel fee" to cover the extra time driving and fuel.  If you are miles off one of the main arteries through and around Vancouver or way out in the countryside please expect to pay for the extra time it takes to get to your place.  We also do not go over into Oregon at all.

How much does it cost?Do you work weekends?

We schedule appointments Mon-Fri during the daytime hours. We do not work weekends or evenings.

The total cost of grooming your pet is determined by the time it takes to groom your pet and the services needed. Expect your grooming fee to be higher than a quality pet salon price.

The minimum fee for the mobile van to come to your house for a grooming appointment is $70.00 Most small dogs (Dachshunds, Yorkies, Maltese, Shih Tzu etc) are usually $70.00 to $80.00 if they are well behaved and in good coat condition. Medium dogs are Mini Schnauzer, Mini doodles and Bichon size and are usually $75-$95. Large dogs (keeping in mind that for me a large dog is at the top of the size range of dogs I groom so that would be a coated dog around 40 pounds) are usually $95 and up. A large bath only dog would start at $75.00 depending on the amount of coat. At this time we are no longer accepting new clients over 40 pounds in size unless they are slick or short coated in which case we can accept dogs up to 50 pounds in size.

Difficult to groom dogs (snapping, struggling, significantly overweight, very senior) or matted dogs will take more time than a dog who is cooperative and well maintained so please expect to pay a little more ($5-$25) for the extra time and care required to groom those dogs.

Minimum fee for the van to come to your house for nail trimming only is $40.00 for the first dog. Additional pets are $20.00 each.

Do you groom cats?

Sorry, we are no longer accepting cat clients.

Do you groom big dogs?

All full groom dogs must be under 40 pounds in size. Slick/smooth coated dogs up to 50 pounds that are used to being groomed can be accomodated as well.

Do you scissor clip?

Yes, I can scissor your dog instead of using clippers.  Leaving the coat on your dog longer than half an inch requires scissoring. Obviously that takes more skill and time than just using clippers and clipping the coat short so please realize that will put your charges at the higher end of the scale.

Do you strip dogs?

No, we no longer do any hand stripping.
